All 240 volt NEMA receptacles for car charging must be installed on expensive GFCI breakers. Car chargers don't mix well with GFCI breakers and you will experience nuisance tripping. The receptacles themselves aren't designed for the longer charging times they are seeing and have been prone to melting.
At this installation, the only breaker box was diagonally across a two-story house from the installation location. There was no attic access we could use so we had to run a conduit across the back of the house, under a deck, along the side of the house, and through a storage area to the charging station's installation location by the garage. This particular installation was for a Rivian charging station, but any type of charging station would have had to follow the same route.
